hiding something?
Be it shopping for an anniversary present for that special someone or researching a personal problem you would simply like to keep to yourself, sometimes it is necessary to delete evidence of our time spent on a shared (or even personal) computer. It is fairly simple to erase your trail when you've been on the internet, whether you use Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, or any other browser.
For both, you should first close and re-open the browser you are using to reset the window (If you try to delete history from the last page you visit, the last page will not be deleted). When you have been directed to your home page, you can erase any evidence of your internet use in just a few steps.
In Firefox: On the "File" menu bar at the top of the browser, click "Tools" and then "Clear Recent History" on the drop-down menu. A box will come up and let you choose what parts of your history you would like to delete, as well as how far back they should be deleted. If you only delete items from the time that you were using the computer, it will not be obvious that you used this tool.
In Internet Explorer: The "Tools" drop-down menu is near the left, top-hand corner of the page. On this menu click "Internet Options" and wait for the dialogue box to open. On the first tab there will be a small section titled "Browsing History", under which you can delete recent history with the click of a button.
Other browsers, such as Google Chrome, will have similar procedures for deleting recent history. Now you can keep private matters just so!
On another note, I suggest you all attempt to see the film/documentary Helvetica; it is pretty interesting, at least for a writer.
